✅ Description:

Rupa-Aid 10mg Tablet contains Rupatadine, which is classified as an Antihistamine medication. It's prescribed to alleviate symptoms associated with allergic rhinitis, such as sneezing, runny nose, and itching in the eyes and nose. Additionally, it's used to relieve symptoms linked with urticaria, an allergic skin rash, including itching and hives.

Allergic rhinitis stems from inflammation within the nasal passages triggered by allergens like pollen, dust, mold, or animal dander. Urticaria manifests as a skin rash due to an allergic reaction to substances like food, medications, or other irritants.

Rupatadine, as an antihistamine, functions by blocking the effects of histamine, a chemical messenger responsible for allergic reactions. By doing so, it alleviates symptoms such as swelling, itching, runny nose, sneezing, rashes, and watery eyes.

Before starting Rupa-Aid 10mg Tablet, it's essential to inform your doctor if you have hypokalemia (low blood potassium levels), are intolerant to certain sugars like lactose, or have underlying heart, kidney, or liver conditions. Rupa-Aid 10mg Tablet isn't recommended for individuals with impaired kidney or liver function. If you're pregnant, planning to conceive, or breastfeeding, consult your doctor before taking Rupa-Aid 10mg Tablet. It's also not advised for children under 12 years old, so consulting a doctor before administering is crucial.

✔️ Indications of Rupa-Aid 10mg Tablet
✔️ Pharmacology

Rupatadine acts as a long-acting, non-sedative antagonist of histamine H1-receptors. Additionally, it antagonizes the platelet-activating factor (PAF). Both histamine and PAF contribute to bronchoconstriction, leading to increased vascular permeability and acting as mediators in the inflammatory process. Rupatadine's dual mode of action results in a better therapeutic effect compared to isolated antihistamines. Furthermore, Rupatadine possesses other anti-allergic properties, including inhibiting the degranulation of mast cells induced by both immunological and non-immunological stimuli. It also inhibits the release of cytokines, particularly tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF α), in human mastocytes and monocytes.
